You’ve been showing up for your child in every way you know how—talking with teachers, reading parenting books, staying up late scrolling through articles, holding your breath through another tough school drop-off… and still, your child is struggling—and so are you.
You’ve done your best to stay patient. You’ve followed advice from professionals, tried to help your child “calm down,” “focus,” or “behave.” Maybe you’ve tried time-outs, sticker charts, tough love, gentle talks… but none of it seems to address what’s really going on. And now, you’re exhausted, worried, and maybe even questioning whether you’re doing something wrong.
You’re not.
And you’re not alone.
That is where I come in.
I'm here to partner with you—to truly understand your child while offering compassionate and intentional support that gets to the heart of what your child is experiencing and helps guide meaningful, lasting change.
Through ongoing assessment and individualized treatment planning, therapy evolves alongside your child’s growth. Children and caregivers alike can gain practical tools to foster emotional resilience, deepen understanding of behavior, and feel confident in facing future challenges. Together, we’ll help your child feel seen, safe and supported—and help you feel empowered and hopeful again.
Child and adolescent therapy services are designed to support youth ages 5–18 who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or developmental challenges.
Each session is individually tailored to the child’s unique personality, experiences and needs, using creativity, play and connection to promote engagement and personal growth.
Therapeutic approaches are grounded in evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). These methods aim to help children build emotional awareness, develop coping strategies and navigate challenges with greater resilience.

Probably not, if you:
The first step in exploring therapy services is scheduling a free 15-minute consultation. This call offers us a chance to connect, talk through your goals, and get a sense of whether my approach is the right fit for your child’s needs.
You’ll have the opportunity to share a bit about your child and what led you to consider therapy. I’ll answer any questions you may have, walk you through what to expect, and outline the next steps in the process.
This brief conversation is designed to help you feel informed, supported, and confident as we explore how therapy can best support your child’s growth and well-being. If it turns out that your child would benefit from a different type of support, I’m happy to offer guidance and referrals to help you find the right fit.
If we find that we are a good fit, the next step is booking an intake session. Before our appointment, you’ll receive a brief intake questionnaire to complete, which helps guide our conversation and allows us to begin our work together with a clear understanding of your child’s needs.
The 1-hour intake session provides space for a more in-depth discussion about your child’s history, current challenges and strengths. This session is also a time to begin building trust, setting the foundation for a collaborative therapeutic relationship.
Once the intake is complete, we’ll begin ongoing therapy sessions tailored to your child’s unique needs. During the first session, we’ll establish therapy goals and begin introducing your child to the therapeutic process.
As therapy progresses, we’ll continue to assess your child’s progress and adapt our approach as needed. The goal is always to help your child build awareness, confidence and meaningful tools they can carry with them beyond the therapy room.
As a therapist, my approach is rooted in empathy, understanding and a deep respect for each family's unique journey.
I strive to create a warm, supportive space where both you and your child can feel genuinely heard, understood and empowered. If you have additional questions for me, please email me at info@maranacounselingservices.com.
Yes! Parent involvement is an essential part of the process. While parents typically do not attend the entire session, they are actively engaged in the treatment process through check-ins and regular updates to ensure progress and collaboration.
That’s totally okay—and, actually, it’s very common! Therapy with children doesn’t rely solely on talking. I use play, creative activities and nonverbal expression to connect. Often, kids become more comfortable over time once they realize this is a safe, no-pressure space just for them.
While I am not in-network with any insurance carriers, I can provide you with a superbill, which may qualify for out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan.
I maintain a balance between respecting your child’s confidentiality and keeping you informed. I’ll always share general themes, progress and any safety concerns—and I’ll include you in goal-setting and planning. Building trust with your child is essential, and I always welcome open communication with parents.
Keep it simple and reassuring. You might say, “You’ll be meeting someone whose job is to help kids feel better and understand their feelings.” I can also provide age-appropriate language and guidance before the first session if you’d like support with this conversation.
Yes, I offer convenient afternoon and evening hours that are perfect for after-school schedules.
